Beet Hummus

Vegan + Gluten Free

This is a sweeter version of hummus which is very kid friendly and perfect as a spread on sandwiches, a dip or as a side dish.



  • 1 small beetroot

  • 1 clove of garlic

  • 3 tbsp olive oil

  • 2 tbsp tahini

  • 1 cup cooked chickpeas (garbanzo beans)

  • juice of 1 lemon

  • zest of 1 lemon

  • salt and pepper to taste



  1. Slice and roast one beet in the oven at 350F for about 30 minutes.

  2. Into a blender: add all the above ingredients plus the roasted beets.

  3. Blend everything to desired consistency.
